只要真心想當老師,全世界都會幫你

壹、 前言
        很幸運應屆畢業和實習後就能錄取高中英文科正式教師,我是台師大英語 98 級,沒有準備研究所,上半學期台北市立完全中學實習,下半學期兼課。檢視自己能在考季的尾聲突破重圍,奪下雙料冠軍除了一路上很多貴人相助之外,最重要的是:「充分地了解自己,十足的教學熱忱和適當的自我感覺良好。」
貳、 教師檢定考
        我在七月份就把教檢的考古題全部做過一次,目的是預估自己要花多少時間安全通過及
格分數,因為分數還挺令我安心,所以八月份就慢慢把「張春興的教育心理學」仔細看過一
回和整理成筆記。至於陳嘉陽的那一套書我才看了五章就萌生:「陳老蘇,請說中文好嗎?」的想法,因此我把它狠狠地甩開,開始做他的題目,從題目中去抓重點對我而言是最簡單省時的方式。實習接近尾聲,看了版友的推薦去師大書苑買了「艾育通關寶典」,他條列式的重點整理深得我心,又搭配考題的練習讓我可以現學現賣。實習結束後,我和三個要好的實習同事一起組讀書會,彼此互相督促和打氣,念書念累就互相考對方一起複習重點,也可以講一下演藝圈的八卦(竊笑)放鬆一下。
        雖然沒有打算準備考國中,考前我去下載教甄教育科目的考古題來做,因為善用題目複
習對我來說是最有效率的方式。我高中曾經參加演辯社,對於申論題和作文的拿分較能掌握,所以國文的準備只有做完考古題就去考試了,再者,銘記版友的分享,作文要盡量寫到跟教育相關,因而拿下 32/40 的高分。我的教檢分數如下:國文 86,教原 72,青發 67,課程 80,平均是 76.25。非常感謝我的實習夥伴們陪我度過念教檢的苦悶時期,一起討論,一起耍白癡以及常被當成大明星小跟班(!?)的時光真的很開心也令人難忘。所以,建議學弟妹們不要
孤軍奮戰,實習的時候要好好的廣結善緣,會遇到互相扶持的朋友一起達成目標。
參、 教甄筆試
一、 單字:
比起我的強者同學們,真的遜色太多(被飛踢!)。我實習只隨意翻翻許章真
字首字根,由於他的編排實在太不討喜,並且自己是個需要藉由做題目提升字彙
量的人,實習結束後買了 “許章真托福字彙滿分”並且很認真背過三次。其實,
這樣的字彙量是會被慘電的,很多有準備研究所的同學早就把 GRE 單字背得滾瓜
爛熟,所以在考季一開始就可以殺出一條血路過初試成為閃亮的新星(遠目~)。小
女子實在無法啃著厚厚的紅寶書背那些和我面面相覷的生冷單字,所以藉由享受
閱讀 Advanced, Time 和 Newsweek 的樂趣來增加字彙量,對我而言,從文章中推
敲單字的意思及用法才是印象最深刻的方式。
二、 考古題:
我實習前就在師大的就業大師下載 95~98 年的考題,從去年八月開始做,按
部就班地完成每一回,準備一本單字筆記本,把每個熟悉又陌生的單字們收集起
來,搭公車時就隨手拿出來翻翻,會發現好多單字都鬼打牆般重複出現好喜悅!
三、 申論題:
這類的考題五花八門,可參閱考古題。剛開始考試時,常千頭萬緒地把所有
的想法吐在答案卷上,想當然爾分數也很噁心。經由實習學校強者學姐的指點後,
我讓自己的作文更有層次及目的性,漸漸能吸引評審老師的目光。例如:How do you
teach writing? 我會把每個活動名稱後稍微敘述一下進行方式,接著陳述活動目
的。一開始時,看著準備英教所的同學一間間過了筆試,認清了一定要時常拜拜
Brown 大神,所以把 "Teaching by Principle"看了五次以上,深深覺得他的用字
遣詞精確又漂亮,背了之後出神入化的融入作答。再者,多虧兼課這半年有許多
實務經驗,我又有帶體育班,所以班經和活動設計這類考題便是我的強項,更是
抓緊機會全力發揮。我有將申論考古題分類整理,然後以列大綱的方式寫出應答
對策,固定拿出來溫習一下就不會在短短的考試時間慌了手腳。
四、 出題:
不外乎是出克漏字和閱讀測驗,學姐就曾經提醒我比較狠的學校會給長篇文
然後先要 summarize 再出題,因此我從四月就開始以 Advanced 作為練習的題材,
其實只要先在文章上挑出重點句,再用自己的話 paraphrase 就可以拿到不錯的分
數。克漏字出題要挑不同類型的選項,例如:單字、片語、連接詞、分詞構句、
關代等等。閱讀測驗則至少要包含五個向度:main idea, detailed information,
vocabulary, inference, reference, implication, the author’s purpose or attitude etc.
可以參考大考中心的出題,背一下題幹的敘述方式。
其實,這類考題只要平常多練習一定就會有成效。因為有自知之明書念得比
別人少,所以很認命的報名考試來練筆,總共考了 22 間的筆試,過了五間的初試,
戰果是三個備取二,兩個正取一。曾經遇到同學說:「你真的是全省跑透透到處考
耶!」也不覺得心酸而是堅持著信念:就是想當老師,不管是哪裡的學生我都想
教。雖然幾次的備取讓我有些沮喪,但是命運的安排卻讓我在最適合的學校及最
可能久居的城市落腳,讓我更深信學長姐曾經說過的,考教甄最需要天時地利人
和的緣份,相信大家也會在和自己最有緣的學校塵埃落定,加油!
肆、 試教
我過了五間的複試,前三間得知備取後都有打電話去詢問該改進的地方,評審老師們一
致覺得我上課很活潑且沒有問題,會列在備取的最大原因是:太年輕了(難道這也是錯誤哭哭
~),跟其他老師比起來經驗較少。而有些年紀較大的老師覺得我講文法不夠仔細(我自己創造
Jay and Jolin’s dialogue 的方式),不過年輕的老師覺得這樣的教法很新穎,而且我在兼
課也是這樣呈現給學生,學生也覺得印象深刻可以活用。本來有想過要調整文法的敘述方式,但我實在無法講出那些深奧的專門辭彙,並且深深覺得語言必須運用在生活中,Amy 學姐也鼓勵我要繼續堅持自己。畢竟,若是為了錄取而去迎合學校,除了自己可能會綁手綁腳,若是有幸錄取去不適合自己的學校也不會快樂。但是聽完建議後,我有做些許的調整,文法加入更多 teacher’s correction 的互動。很幸運的,最後終於遇到我的伯樂。我的教學是屬
於互動滿天飛的那種,因為我的教學信念是:語言課應該多讓學生練習與思考他們才會進步。再者,以學生為主體的試教,整個人就會發亮,也比較有趣。千萬不要悶著頭光顧著自
己練習試教,當局者迷旁觀者清。我有和實習同事及學校代課老師一起練習,請指導老師和
強者學長姐 Aaron 和 Tracy 幫我看,他們給的建議是我能出現在複試名單上的主因(深深叩拜
~)
一、 以下歸納試教的幾個重點:
1. 有組織地運用版書,可多用幾種顏色的粉筆呈現教學流程與重點摘要。
2. 講解課文方式可以依循閱讀測驗的出題模式和學生互動。例如:Why is the author
saying this? What does it imply? We can make an inference that…., What does
the “it” refer to? etc. 我帶課文時都會一直自問自答 why, 設計學生會回答的
愚蠢答案,再很聰明瀟灑地講出正解(好帥氣 XD)。
3. 以學生經驗為取材,不管是試教或是上課,當老師都要以學生的角度思考,把課文
跟學生的生活經驗做連結是最有趣的學習了。所以我很愛問,If you were OOO, what
would you do? 之類的反思。
4. 微笑和走動,自然與自信的身體語言有畫龍點睛之妙,所以我都會放膽的走到講台
下演出和學生互動的情形,即使評審結著屎臉,我也不退縮堅定微笑地嘩啦啦講課。
5. 聲音語言與手勢,經由強者 Tracy 學姐指點後,懂得善用抑揚頓挫引人入勝,再者
運用手勢提點重點,像是我會張開雙手鼓勵學生回答,或是需要學生思考時會像一
休和尚般在太陽穴附近用食指畫圈,簡言之就讓自己變成一個愛演的人吧!
6. 適時指出段落或行數,我們在台上講得天花亂墜,台下評審老師卻常成為迷途羔羊。
可以適時指出行數或是假裝請學生念出目前所在的句子,讓評審可以跟隨我們的腳
步。
7. 融入合作學習,要將理論活用,所以我會穿插 group discussion 和 pair work.
8. 叫學生回答可加入可愛的形容詞,ex. this cute lady, the talkative boy…etc
9. 從容不迫,太流暢的試教反而會給人壓迫感,適當的 pause 非常的重要。
二、 以下分享其中一間正取學校的試教經驗:
1. 遠東版第三冊第一課 “General MacArthur’s Prayer for His Son” (15 minutes)
Warm-up 
因為我抽到五號,11:30 開始試教,所以我設計的情境如下:
Hi class, how are you doing today? Come on, you look so tired! I know you cannot wait
to buy your lunch, but we have an exciting class today. Let me ask you some questions
to cheer you up. This is the first lesson in this semester, and we’ve learned a lesson
related to “Dad” last semester, remember? Amy, you are right! “Thing I learned
from Dad,” and it’s about two successful persons, Rebecca and Richard. You have
a good memory!
(評審老師看到我有提供先備知識再引導進入課文似乎感到滿意,頻頻點頭。)
Today, we are going to start a new lesson, who can tell me the title? Thank you,
Michelle. Yes, “General MacArthur’s Prayer for His Son” (在黑板寫下標題) Who is
MacArthur? Anyone? Good, Chester. He is a brave soldier in WWII. Then, what does prayer
mean? Could you show me you are praying, Helen? (做出禱告的動作) Now, try to imagine
that if you were MacArthur, what would you pray for your son? Karla, for more money?
It could be possible. Nick, a sexy girlfriend? Oh, you are too young to have a sexy
girlfriend!
Main teaching procedure 
a. Listen to the CD and Pre-reading Questions
Now, I would like you close your textbook. I will play the CD of the first three
paragraphs, and I would like you to find out what MacArthur’s Prayer for His Son
is. After listening, you can have a group discussion and I will ask you to share
your answer with the class.
Class, time is flying. Good, group four seems to have a lively discussion. Sylvia,
could you tell me what MacArthur’s Prayer for His Son exactly is. You don’t know?
Don’t worry, I will come back to you later. How about your group member, Isis?
“He wanted his son to suffer more.” Interesting answer, why did MacArthur want
his son suffer? It’s weird, right? Let’s take a closer look and find out from
the very beginning.
b. Lead students to read paragraph 1-3
我習慣用拋問題的方式講解課文,這課的架構剛好可以畫出對比圖(如上)。除了帶課本內
容,我會延伸問題讓學生思考,例如:
(Line 3-4) Why did MacArthur want his son to become proud and humble at the same
time. It’s contradictory, right? Yes, Tyng. They are different situations. For
example, I strived to be a teacher, but I couldn’t pass the test. Should I be
frustrated and beaten down? Of course not! I should still be confident and
passionate. (評審露出會心一笑) On the other hand, if you pass the English exam,
and your friend fail it. Will you laugh at him or her and say you are such an idiot?
Sylvia, I did not forget you. What will you do? You will help him CHEAT on the
made-up tests? How dare you! (評審哈哈大笑) You could say “Don’t worry, and I
will help you review English.”
(Line 6-7) Why did MacArthur put wishbone and backbone here? What’s wrong with
his son’s bone? (伸出手臂露出狐疑的表情) Excellent, it’s a metaphor. You guys
like to make wishes, right? But did you really make your dreams come true? No.
So, backbone symbolizes your hard work to realize your dreams. What is MacArthur
trying to say here? Remember? “Actions speak louder than words.” You can’t just
daydream all day long; you should put it into practice.
(Line 8-9) What does “the foundation stone of knowledge” mean here? Did MacArthur
allow his son copy his classmate’s homework, LIKE YOU GUYS? (擠眉弄眼假裝生氣)
No. He wanted his son to acquire knowledge like a sponge. Oh, Jimmy. Please don’t
mention Sponge Bob AGAIN!
(Line 10-13) How come MacArthur wanted his son to encounter more difficulties?
How a cruel father! How do you think, Iris? “His son can become stronger after
being through setbacks.” You are right, so we can see he will stand up in the
storm. What does storm symbolize here? Thank you, Jack. It means difficulty. Does
it make sense now? If you suffer more, you will grow up.
(單字) 情境假設上一節課已經教完全部單字,放在課文裡稍微複習。我不會特別給例句,
會讓學生依照上下文猜單字的意思或演出來讓他們猜。
c. Make prediction of the following paragraphs
We’ve have basic ideas of MacArthur’s prayer. What are the following paragraphs
about? Judy? “More wishes for his son.” Yes, MacArthur is so TALKATIVE to God.
We will find out more about his prayer tomorrow.
d. Grammar dialogue
Now, I would like to invite two guest speakers to share their experiences of their
father’s prayer. Let’s welcome Jay and Jolin !
(北縣聯招可以帶教具進去,所以上課用的 Jay & Jolin A4 圖片可以派上用場)
Jolin: What did your dad pray for you?
Jay: Aiyo~ My dad did not pray for more money but for a good wife for me.
(這會讓評審眼睛一亮,所以聲音和表情的模仿要誇張一點。)
Class, maybe Jay is implying that he wants to marry Jolin, right? Do you also notice
that he used a pattern we just learned today? Good job, Nancy. “not…but…” Where
can we find it in the reading? Yes, John, in line 10. Could you read the sentence?
It stated the same or different ideas in a sentence? Different! Yes, so you can
use the pattern to illustrate contrast. Now I would like you to pair up and make
a sentence based on the pattern and later share with the whole class. Class, time
is always flying. Any volunteer? Judy, please. “I like English not because it’s
easy, because my English teacher is beautiful.” Good try, and I feel flattered!
But you forgot a cute word! Could your partner, Joe help you correct the sentence?
“I like English not because it’s easy, but because my English teacher is
beautiful.” Excellent! You can make good use of the pattern in your writing, and 6
I believe it will be a masterpiece.
Wrap-up
a. Assignment:You are doing very well today, and as for today’s homework, I would
like you to finish the pattern practice in the reading. Second, I would like
you to think about that if you were your dad, what would you pray for yourself?

b. Review:Good, let’s have a quick review of today’s lesson. (帶念黑板單字
和句型) brave? Louder! Do you want to have your VERY YUMMY lunch? Great! Good
pronunciation. (顯示出我是一個歇斯底里的老師XD) I hope you can think loud that
your parents’ expectation on you and put it into practice. Questions? If no,
let’s call it a day! Enjoy your lunch. Class dismissed.
建議試教的教案最好獨力完成,因為每個人的上法及風格不同,所以很難和合作夥伴有
共識。每課只要寫出版書的簡案即可,培養臨場發揮的能力比較重要,我個人認為試教是平
時上台的縮影,不僅僅是演戲,而是把個人的教學能力淋漓盡致地展現。我一直謹記 Aaron
學長說的:就當作是來 share 自己的教學,很自信且輕鬆自在的上完課。試教前我都不停灌
醉自己,幻想台下都是我的可愛學生們,我就可以很放得開的上課。每一次的複試都是心理
戰,到了試場,我總是最嫩最年輕,但是我還是毫不害羞的告訴自己,學校不錄取我是你們
沒福氣!
伍、 結語
其實我很晚才決定要當老師,本來有點懊悔大學時沒好好修習英教相關課程,後來發現
只要有心還是可以克服萬難的。我的口說不像強者學長姐那樣正確及流利,但是我自知最大
的優勢便是我很有親和力及熱忱,所以試教和口試便放大絕展現出來。我在實習和兼課時候,我的學生和辦公室老師給我很多溫暖的回饋讓我深信我一定可以成為一個令學生喜愛的好老師,再者,我真的很享受當老師的過程,備課和上課都讓我覺得是和學生玩耍而不是工作。有快樂的老師才有快樂的學生,所以要開開心心的迎接教甄的挑戰。返校座談時,Bryant學長曾經說過: “Take it lightly.”我一直記在心裡,顛簸的教甄路上得失心便沒有那麼重,後來還很樂天地決定考到六月底就要去報高中代理。教甄真的是一條漫長且艱辛的路,很幸運一路上我有好多朋友及家人幫忙與支持,沒有他們就沒有現在的我。當我曾經因為筆試屢屢受挫,含著淚崩潰吃滷味的時候,我男朋友板起臉來說:你是很想當老師的人耶,不應該被小小的挫折打敗啊,你害滷味變好鹹(破涕為笑),真的很感謝他也在忙畢業論文的燃眉之急總是陪在我身邊當我最大的靠山(預約茹絲葵)。我的爸爸媽媽不但不會給我壓力,總是關心打電話提醒我要吃飯,還在大熱天陪我去考試。實習學校的學生也很感人,我把他們送給我的貼滿滿小卡的人型立牌存在手機桌面(男朋友 OS:我竟然被取代了!),每次考試很喪氣的時候就拿出來看,想想最初的夢想與感動。人生每個階段的朋友很慷慨的幫了我好多忙,尤其是實習兼課一年,還能跟高中的好朋友一起當室友,還因此認識了其他談得來的好朋友,可以聽他們說 OL 的趣事減輕壓力。實習的同事們更是功不可沒,不僅一起奔波考試或幫忙報名,連同事的爸媽都好心到讓人掉淚的接送我們考試還貼心準備早餐讓我們充飢。實習學校的老師和學長姐更是我的心靈支柱,不僅時常關心我給我鼓勵,更是我努力成為好老師的標竿。大學同學更是三不五時貼心地幫我加油打氣,還有好多好多人在教甄的路上扶了我一把,因此我把“得之於人者太多”這句話放在心上,然後懂得回饋,懂得實踐。當老師對我來說最吸引人的部分不是因為穩定或彈性,而是這一份工作可以影響很多人,可以改變很多人,可以造福很多人,是非常有意義的。我一直相信只要有心,一定會當上老師,只要你是真心的,一定可以考上的。
