Steve's love: The pattern of lighthouse
Watertown
Before getting started, I got a mail from NESE.
"Your host mother, Ms. Arleen Whiteacre, live with her husband Steve in a
lovely suburb outside of Boston. Arleen works as an administrative assistantfor an assisted living facility. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening,
sewing, shopping and traveling. She also likes to collect dolls and has a beautiful
doll collection. Steve is a polysonographist who conducts sleep studies. In his spare
time, he likes to play golf, travel and complete woodworking projects. The Whiteacres
have three grown daughters and six grandchildren who often visit. Arleen's aunt also
lives at this home and enjoys spending time with the students."
In Boston:
I really like Whiteacre family.
Arleen is a nice person, and she told us her dear parents and her auntie's story.
Steve is kind of humorous. He works in the hospital.
In USA, they wear blue shirt, so different from Taiwan.
Auntie is 86 years old,but she drives, reads and even watches baseball games.
She keeps talking when she meet us, just like other elderly people.
Delicate furnishing in the living
Beautiful house, kind persons,
They just want us to feel like at home, and I do.There is a lot of food in the fridge and cupboard, so we just eat what we want.
And I also bring some for my tomorrow's lunch.
In this way, I can save money for shopping!
Super talkative Auntie (She is an angel in the paradise now.)
Dearest homemom, Arleen
My crazy and adorable roommates!
Enma is from Madrid. She always kisses me on my cheeks when we meet.
She is really a crazy woman and has different dresses everyday.
Carla is from Brazile, and she has a 6-year-old son.
She has strong shoulders.
Actually, sometimes I can't understand them quite well because the strong accent.
I learn to use body language to communicate with them.
Anyway, it is quite interesting to experience authentic American life with people
from different country.
